I was chatting with a dealer whom I plan to patronize in Cotonou today..I plan to buy 05/06 corolla LE and he told me I can go for 03/04 that they are d same thing..wen I point his attention to d 3 headrest as against 2 head rest in 03/04 edition he said it can be upgraded in ladipo....so pls can anyone confirm this pls andlike how much does dis cost....expert opinion is appreciated

They pretty much the same thing except for a few sensors that the 2005 upwards have.
The 2005 has key sensor factory security, Also has some sensors on the wheels, grill and reverse lights are different.
Almost every other thing is the same. Go for the 2005, it's more secure.

It can't be done but doubt their competency. If you are going for the corolla make your research well. The limited edition (LE) is better compared to the classic edition (CE). Reason the ce comes with a manual glass winding compared to the LE which is automated. The LE comes with ABS ( antilock braking system) while the Ce doesn't. The 03/04 is same with 05/06. Just some minor differences from the logo region in front is diff frm the 05/06. Looking at the interior again at the cluster the 03/04 illuminates in white while the the 05/06 has a black like cluster. Its a good car I use the 2007 LE of it and its being superb. I just hope the one you getting at cotonu still has its catalytic conveter intact. Happy landing on your new ride

The difference in buying price could be as much as N250,000 /N300,000 while feature difference is simple an extra head rest at the back and positioning of the break light .
If you don't care much about what you spend for procurement then the 2006 should get your nod.

I will prefer u go for the 2006 version as their is higher rate of recorded car theft of corolla .2006 version will give u the immobilizer security function that is absent in 2003.

my budget is limited to 1.4m at most and I bet 2006 is way above dat

You can't get an 06 for 1.4m unless you need one without a clean history (accidented)

I have a 2006 corolla European spec,with reverse light on d trunk,the engine just knocked recently(due to my own carelessness).i have learnt my lessons.i wan to buy another engine,my mech said I should go for Japanese engine,i priced it @ ladipo they said 140k last..pls I need advise. Just keep track and do normal routine services. But stick to synthetic lubricant as mineral oil will bring about sludge build up in your engine. Toyota cars can't handle/manage sludge. Goodluck this time around. As a guide stick to 3/4months service period

Those guys removed my catalytic converter for my rx 300 in Cotonou. Chai I suffered eh!

Not safe cause even though you pay full duty,if you encounter custom officers they'll still seize the car.

Its not high my bro if its free accidental. I bought my own 2006 toyota corolla on Copart around 2.1M including customs duty but d mileage is around 87k, The car look like brand new, accidental free and no single work to be done on d car. if you are not careful, Naija dealer will sell u accidental car for u for 2M and u will not know. My advise for you is to get history of d car u want to purchase.

When you finally get it, you can bring it for necessary checks. Don't forget to check the history and also inspect the car before payment goodluck.

@bold if u are buying any 2006 corolla not in the range of 1.9 to 2.1m, u need to inspect that car thoroughly....

Just look under the car, if you see an ordinary pipe welded, then the catalyst had been removed. Also, start the car and it’ll give a noise like a blown exhaust

I constantly have check engine light coming up on my car, when I scan, I will be told that is a clucked catalytic converter, pls how can I deal with this gurus??
