Microsoft has done it again, this time in a big way by Fulaman198(m): 8:38pm On Apr 30, 2015 |
"Event thought its distributing versions of its Windows 10 operating system to anyone and everyone who wants to try them, it wasn’t until this week that Microsoft revealed a Windows 10 for phones feature that wasn’t just a rehash of something it’d done before. On stage at its developer conference Microsoft showed a new feature that’ll allow users to turn their smartphones into Windows Desktop PCs. The feature that lets Windows 10 for Phones morph into Desktop PCs isn’t completely new to Windows 10. In fact, it’s the Continuum feature that lets Windows 10 2-in-1s and tablets switch in and out of Tablet Mode when no keyboard is detected. On stage during the BUILD 2015 keynote, Microsoft executive Joe Belfiore showed off what he called Continuum for Phones." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oi1B9fjVs4#t=65 Source: http://www.gottabemobile.com/2015/04/30/microsoft-reveals-stunning-windows-10-for-phones-feature/ 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Let's wait and see. If this is just gimmicks or not. That's how they shouted when they released windows 8 and we all know what eventually became of it. 17 Likes 3 Shares |

Microsoft should just stick to making windows for pc better. That is their niche. All these attempts at mobile os is just a waste of money and more importantly time. Truth is bitter. Ios and android are the market leaders and this is not about to end 4 Likes |

aceTS: Every thing that has a beginning must surely have an end. Failing does not mean you are a failure, it simple means trying agian with a better strategy that's what windows is doing. 29 Likes 1 Share |

Temihatz: Unless if Android becomes a full-fledged Desktop OS, how? I don't see how that's possible unless if you plug in an Android device to a monitor it becomes a full-fledged Debian Based Linux or something. I don't see that happening. Android is meant for mobile OS. Microsoft really was innovative this time and they deserve credit. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Matthewbriggs:You are right about Every thing having an end. Windows mobile has being around for a while now. When it came out, android wasn't this dominant. Ios was the leader. And windows mobile was touted as the next big thing. In fact, my first smartphone In 2008 was a windows phone, the samsung omnia i900. I loved that phone. It was like walking about with a pc. This is 2015, the windows narrative is still about potential. I think the major reason windows mobile os hasn't being quietly discarded is because Microsoft is big and financially strong enough to withstand the absence of the profits it had hoped to get from the mobile os market. No matter how windows zealots try to spin it, that os is not going to be popular any time soon. Like you said, everything has an end. Maybe the bell is tolling for the end of windows mobile. 3 Likes |

Fulaman198:android is customizable, devs keep working, modules keep coming, roms keep changing, the fun keeps staying... Android is alive.. windows is nothing but an attempt... It should even compete with BlackBerry before trying to stay relevant.. my 2cent.. if it was pc, it would have been a different tale |
