ADMISSION PROBLEMS IN NIGERIA
Securing admission into the Nigeria University nowadays has become nothing short of difficult mission.
It is obviously revealing to all that only 40% of admission applicant on the medium of UTME eventually gains admission into the university which therefore leaves the remainder of 60% applicants at the admission gate stranded.
At this gate, another mass of fresh applicants joins the former 60%. Thus, leading to over populated society of admission seekers. Meanwhile, only 40% would eventually be admitted. Mind you, UTME result expires a year before the next examination date.
IJMB THE GREAT ALTERNATIVE
This is where INTERIM JOINT MATRICULATION BOARD EXAMINATION sets in. The IJMB has become a great alternative for most admission aspirants, entering them into 200levels in their various university of choice.
This program is highly dependable and recommendable for the following reasons:
1 Effective tutorials that revitalize students hereby transforming them from Ordinary level (O’level) students to Advanced level (A’level) students. According to various testimonies by students who are IJMB product. It is confirmed that IJMB products are more inclined in knowledge than most university foundational students.
2 Acceptability. IJMB is accepted b 70% of the Nigeria universities and even beyond the shores of Nigeria. We have students in Benin Republic, Ghana, South Africa, Canada and Malaysia. IJMB shall soon earn global acceptance.
3 It is possible to apply for the program with No or deficiency in your O’level result. This give a student the privilege of making up for O’level result before the next admission year. IJMB is available to anyone provided he/she have completed a Senior Secondary Education.
4 The IJMB does not require an entrance examination for enrollment, as long as the registration form is purchased, you are guaranteed a slot to partake in the final examination provided all financial obligations are met.
5 IJMB program gets you into 200level in the university. An IJMB result with minimum of 5point is a good enough criteria for admission into 200level in the university. The maximum point available for the bet IJMB result is 16points. IJMB allows a students to select three subjects that are relatively compulsory for the choice course the student wants to study in the university of his/her choice. The highest point for each subject is five(5) points( which is denoted by A ). That is, all the three subjects will have a total of fifteen(15) points, with an addition of one (1) point on condition that none of the three is failed (f) which stands for zero (0) point. Summation of the points sixteen(16).
6 The validity of an IJMB result last for an incredible period of seven (7) years. Unlike UTME which last only a year, and in situations when an admission securement is was not successful, there may still be need to purchase new UTME form. IJMB is usable over and over for a lasting period of seven years

The Interim Joint Matriculation Board was established in 1976 by the
Interim Common Services Agency (ICSA). ICSA itself was established by
the government of the old Northern Region of Nigeria to provide
educational and social services to the people of the region. The first
IJMBE (Interim Join Matriculation Board Examination) was held in 1977
for all students who had undergone the IJMB post secondary education
program in the existing schools of Basic/Preliminary studies which had
replaced the HSC.
The IJMBE is essentially an Advance Level Examination except for only
two subjects offered at the ordinary level. The standard of the
examination at both levels is equal to that of the West Africa
Examination Council (WAEC) at similar levels. Candidates use the
result of this examination to seek for admission at the 200 level in
the University, through IJMB Direct Entry program.
Candidate for this examination are admitted as IJMBE students by the
affiliated colleges, either for a year to two years program of
studies. The writing of this examination signifies the end of the
program. A candidate is required to obtain a minimum of 7/8 out of 15
points to qualify for university admission at 200 level. Candidates
are required to have 5 O’ level credits (including Mathematics and
English) before their admitted into the university.

IJMBE offers two subjects at O’ level (English and Mathematics),
which are taken by those who failed to have credit passes in them at
SSCE/NECO.
