Sure, you've been attending church ever since you were a little kid. But now that you're all grown-up, you're starting to ask why exactly people go there in the first place. Christians indeed have varied opinions and answers as to why exactly they're attending church, but here's the thing: Going to church is more than just a way of practising your religion and showing others your beliefs and traditions. Here are three essential things we could actually get when we decide to spend a day inside the church:

Build your spiritual strength.

Going to church is like taking your daily dose of spiritual vitamins to get you going through the rest of the week and help you stay strong amidst trials and hardships. The church is where we would usually get to hear the Word of God and be able to meditate on it. When we take it seriously and apply it to our lives, our faith in God will get stronger and could eventually build us up to be spiritually fit. We should always remember that 'man does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the Lord'. It's not just about strengthening the physical and intellectual aspects of your life but more importantly, we should also try to focus and strengthen our spirituality.

Feel God's presence more fully.

When we attend the church, we will have a chance to experience the presence of God more fully. It doesn't matter if there are a lot of attendees or not because we should remember God's promise that "where two or more are gathered" He will be with them. Aside from that, there are also things that Christ can be able to do that he may not at other times. Most of the time during the week, people are busy with work, school and some other stuff that they are not able to listen and pay attention to that 'still small voice' of God talking to them. However, when you go to the church and be able to meditate quietly, God can be able to communicate fully with you.

Be at fellowship with other Christians.

An obvious reason why Christians should attend church is to have fellowship with other Christians. For one to fully mature spiritually, it is impossible for us to do that on our own. We need others who can help and support us in achieving the highest spiritual growth that we can have. Always try to look at the cross to remind how important fellowship is--- we should always have a vertical fellowship with God and a horizontal fellowship with other Christians. When we are able to love and work in unity with other believers, it helps us keep humble before God and can further help us see that only God can be able to cleanse us from our sins.

A true Christian doesn't attend church service on a superficial reason. When you go to church, you can be spiritually stronger, get the chance to be closer to God as well as have lasting relationships with other Christians like you. If you think that going to church is boring or that it doesn't really mean anything, just remember these three things and it will definitely be something you'll look forward to.
