sonOfLucifer: its still the same thing, all the less deities are still being worshipped and sacrificed to, in my town a deity called Ugwu-egbaedem is still being worshiped by few. . . as long as their are many deities involved, it is wrong to call it monotheism cus it is not. |

johnydon22:Is Christianity a monotheistic religion? |
Re: The Fundamentals Of Odinani by johnydon22(m): 7:48am On May 21, 2015 |
sonOfLucifer: Oh yes "have no other god before me" And i doubt if u see christians worshipping other deities or offering sacrifices to other deities... |
Re: The Fundamentals Of Odinani by Nobody: 8:14am On May 21, 2015 |
johnydon22:Of course, Jesus, the Hoy Spirit and the saints aren't deities. |
Re: The Fundamentals Of Odinani by johnydon22(m): 8:21am On May 21, 2015 |
sonOfLucifer: Lol...Christianity is a very confused religion... First the saints are not deities just like ancestral spirits are not deities in Odinani. Some christian sect dont agree in the deity of Jesus, they say he is just a messanger (angel) Some sects (unitarians) say that jesus is same as yahweh that they are one entity not different entities. then some sects (trinitarians) say jesus is a different entity buh yet is God along with yahweh and d holy spirit (all different entities)... and in other to hide this blatant polytheistic doctrine, they term the three entities ONE in the Godhead but yet three different entities. 6 Likes |

So the white men came to Africa, grabbed this almighty chukwu and threw it inside the garbage can and it stayed there waiting for men to resurrect it? If this chukwu is almighty as the deluded igbos claim, why did it not stop the white men from crossing to Africa? Why did it not give the Africans wisdom to fight against the white men? After reading all this trash, I have finally come to conclude that all gods are man made, not the other way. though, there are forces in this world that I'm yet to understand, until then I am God. 1 Like |

emrain: the Force that is known as Chukwu in igbo is not igbo property but Caucasians share in its glory. .so do animals and infact everything in existence this is not like christianity and Islam that creates a delusion that only members are protected and blessed by "God" The creator is not a partial entity that picks sides or discriminates, humans already have all we need to survive and grow 8 Likes 1 Share |

macof: nice point, but the fact remains, both recorded and unrecorded history of every culture on earth has a story of gods/goddesses from the sky. images of those sky gods/goddesses were being worshipped in Africa before the white man invasions. the bigger question is - who re those gods/goddesses? one of the priorities of the first missionaries was to eradicate any trace of such sky visitors, which our naive grandparents saw as 'white man taking our oracles' in as much as I detest religions as well as god-worship of any kind, I still think we have a very long way to go in the knowledge of our true past. 2 Likes |

MrPresident: that's why I always say Gods/Goddesses don't really exist as they are portrayed but they must be portrayed in some way and what better way than in the image of the people that honor them? 1 Like |
Re: The Fundamentals Of Odinani by johnydon22(m): 1:56pm On May 21, 2015 |
macof: All these deities are just personification of nature... E. g Ani(land) is the personification of land (goddess) in igbo culture... All these are just human way of interacting with nature... It doesn't mean that any of these things personified are really conscious entities. The greek personification of earth is the goddess Gaia.. this doesnt make it true that the goddess gaia is truly a conscious entity, its just the ancient personifying their surrounding and nature the way they understood it.. 4 Likes |

johnydon22: How can you tell when you are faced with a conscious entity? How can you know that the earth, trees, and even storms are not conscious entities? |
Re: The Fundamentals Of Odinani by johnydon22(m): 3:00pm On May 21, 2015 |
PastorAIO: Are they? You are a conscious entity, am sure you know exactly the definition of consciousness is from the human perspective unless you would want consciousness redefined... Am certain you know exactly what i mean by being a conscious entity.. |
Re: The Fundamentals Of Odinani by macof(m): 3:21pm On May 21, 2015 |
johnydon22: bro while you might choose to disagree there's more than enough reason to believe that the earth and everything in Nature is conscious |
Re: The Fundamentals Of Odinani by macof(m): 3:24pm On May 21, 2015 |
johnydon22: There's no specific definition for consciousness. . the topic is stil highly debated by philosophers |

sonOfLucifer: am imagining what you mean by the earth, are you not part of the earth? ....If someone says "the earth" that person is referring to everything in the earth, plant, trees, seas, humans, animals etc... they is nothing like "they are trapped in this world" we are all components of this world... we are the world. its like saying ur eyes is trappped in ur body 1 Like |

Re: The Fundamentals Of Odinani by johnydon22(m): 3:58pm On May 21, 2015 |
sonOfLucifer: I am conscious and i am part of the earth, so Yes the earth is conscious.. Do you now agree that we all are the earth and their is nothing like being trapped in the earth? |

Re: The Fundamentals Of Odinani by Nobody: 4:10pm On May 21, 2015 |
johnydon22:Permit my curiosity. How do you not believe in a creator, yet accept we all are the earth. In this context, the creator is a higher power that unites and holda all that we see and do not see. Where this creator is personal or impersonal will serve no purpose in this discussion. Acts 17.28and in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' |
Re: The Fundamentals Of Odinani by johnydon22(m): 4:13pm On May 21, 2015 |
sonOfLucifer: Lmoa and he brings in the creator in. How can you not accept we are all the earth when you are in the earth, from the earth and part of the earth? it is like asking why do you accept ur eyes is part of ur body... that to me sounds stupendous.. ... Is this creator an entity, independent and alive? or are you referring to nature as the creator? For you to assume up a creator and throw into the equation, then their is need for u substantiate that claim. . . You must say how you perceived this creator and not just make the claim. |
