Boko Haram Threatens Attack On Abuja School. (read) by Victoria85: 11:02am On Jun 10, 2015
Suspected members of the Boko haram sect have threatened to attack Federal Science Technical College, FSTC, Orozo in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

The terrorists in a terse letter dropped inside the college campus warned that they would attack the collage if the school did not adhere to their warning.

The threat letter obtained by Nigerian Pilot reads: “A warning to FSTC Orozo that we are warning you that we are coming for you February 18, 2015. Close down before time; we are warning you again if not we are going to attack. Yours Boko Haram.” The letter with an Arabic inscription has a danger sign below it with a triangular sign at the top left side of the letter.

The terrorists stressed that “if you think we are joking watch and see.” Although the letter was written since February, there has been palpable tension in the college campus even as the police investigate the authenticity of the letter. Nigerian Pilot investigation also revealed that the threat might be contrived within the school since the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Orozo branch, has alleged high-handedness by the school principal, Mrs. Obiageli Ihekwuaba.

The union also accused the principal of embezzling extra-lesson money running into millions, as well as banned hijab among female Muslim students. When Nigerian Pilot sought clarification from the principal, she declined comments stating that she needed permission from the Ministry of Education to talk. But vice principal (Administration) and deputy director of education, Mr. Ibrahim Daniel confirmed that there had been a ban on hijab in all unity schools across Nigeria, and that anybody alleging that the ban was by the principal was not correct.

Mr. Daniel said jihab is only allowed on Fridays and that the college’s primary section also frowned at wearing hijah to school. Speaking to our correspondent, the staff union chairman, Comrade Adebayo Olusegun Kayode said since Mrs. Ihekwuaba assumed headship of the school last December, she had never expressed satisfaction in the performance of the academic staff, and that she restricted the movement of teachers as if they were kids. Consequently, the staff had in the last two days (Monday and yesterday) protested at the school gate, raising alarm on what they described as “ill treatment and highhandedness” by the principal.
