Ideally, social networking platform like facebook is meant for
networking and social interaction. But in contrast, some
fraudsters now use the platform to defraud innocent people.
This time, the target for the fraudsters is Governor Ayodele
Fayose of Ekiti State. The scammers used his name and
photographs to run a fake Facebook accounts.

The governor who alerted the public through his special
assistant on public communications and new media, Lere
Olayinka, warned members of the public against falling
victims of the fraudsters operating the fake account.
Olayinka, explained that the scammers do demand money via
the fake Facebook platform in exchange for government
contracts and employment “Few months ago, we alerted the
public on a certain Dr A.U. Richard with Phone number:
08162404959, who is among the operators of the fake
Facebook Accounts. As at today, the fraudsters are yet to
desist from their nefarious activities, and we wish to warn
members of the public not to relate with anyone claiming to
be Governor Ayodele Fayose on Facebook”he warned.

He urged members of the public to contact 08034671763 if
anyone demands money from them through any Facebook
account with the name and photographs of Governor Ayodele
Fayose or his wife.
“Do not be gullible. Do not fall victim of fraudsters. Governor
Fayose does not have facebook account’’ he warned.
