A HIV positive man has been arrested for infecting
two women with the virus by having unprotected sexual
intercourse with them without telling them about his
condition.
A court heard the women were ‘devastated’ to find out
they had caught the virus after going for blood tests.

Judge Huw Davies QC said, “You were selfish to a
degree which beggars description. You deceived, quite
deliberately, one person after another in ways that
damaged their lives with lasting consequences. The harm
to these victims was of the worst kind.”
The 28-year-old suspect, Mweetwa Muleya, was jailed
for seven years.
One of the victims, who is known as Miss B, said
Muleya had destroyed her life.
According to Muleya, he tested positive of the virus at
15 but his mother kept it away from him until he was
almost 19 years old.
Muleya, of Matthew Street, Swansea, who came to the
UK from Zambia in his teens, was given anti-retroviral
medication to control the virus and advice on how to
stop its spread.
According to Metro UK , he was told it would be a
crime to have unprotected sex with someone and not
disclose his positive status.
However, Swansea Crown Court heard Muleya fell
into a lifestyle of drink and drugs and lapsed when it
came to sexual health check ups.
The suspect claimed he had used protection during sex
escapades with both women.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of causing of GBH in
May this year.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison, and handed
an extra six months for unrelated drug offences.
