Seriously, tongues happen to be human languages and the devil sure can understand human languages. But Paul makes a hypothetical statement in 1 Cor 14 about tongues of angels. This would be the language of angels and not men. So some imagine the devil can't hear that. But, Satan is a fallen angel so it still is not convincing.

You don't need an encrypted means of communication so as to prevent Satan from eavesdropping. If the enemy seeks to be one step ahead of you by eavesdropping your prayers, am certain God would not allow it whether you spoke in tongues or not....just my opinion

I think whether d devil hears your prayer or understands ur prayer should not b of concern to u, what matters is u praying with faith n sincere mind n ur speakin in tongues is truly influenced by d holyspirit, only then will ur prayers/request b answered.

No....devil can't. If a tongue is in other human languages, he will understand. There are varieties of tongues, and ability to speak these tongues differs. There is a tongue that is of the human realm, which enables a Christian to communicate in another earthly language like it happened on Pentecost. There is a tongue that is angelic, which is the tongues of angels. It is more than one, because among the angels are tribes also. Satan too can understand this to an extent if you speak in it. He was in charge of myriads of angels in the past and colonized them to enable them render service. But there is one that is mysterious which is unknown to both angels and man. Only God can understand that. He that speak in an unknown language, speak not to men but to God: for no man understands him but in the spirit he speaks mysteries. Satan does not have an iota of its understanding. One of the reasons for the unveiling of tongues in the last days is to make Kingdoms foolish.
