After years of experimenting with it as a Labs feature, Google announced that it was formally adding an “undo send” option for web-based Gmail users.

The "Undo Send" option is a feature that will enable gmail users to retract a sent mail.

To Enable It:

1. Login To Your Gmail

2. Click the gear in the top right.

3. Select Settings.

4. Click the Labstab.

5. Find the "Undo Send" lab and select the Enable radio button.

6. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Also you will have to set the amount of time you have to undo sending a message by clicking the gear icon, and finding the "Undo Send:" section in the General tab of your Settings.
