Every one of us desires such change
that will make our lives better,
healthier and more productive. Such
change however, will not just happen.
We need to create it.
Here are five major catalysts that will
enable you create that positive
change.
Positive Thought Pattern: You cannot
truly change the way you are until
you’ve changed the way you think. As
someone said, “We cannot solve the
significant problems we face at the
same level of thinking we were when
we created them.” This means that
creating that change will first demand
a change in your thinking process.
If you desire a positive change, then
you need to think positive. You need
to let go of every limiting belief. This
will help you develop positive efficacy
and positions you to embrace your
desired change.
Discontentment: discontentment is a
key catalyst of change. This is because
as long as you are comfortable with
the way you are, then there is no need
for change or let me put it this way,
you will never see the need for a
change. For you to embrace any
positive change, you need to come to
that point where you declare, “I am
tired of living this way,” consciously or
subconsciously. People rarely change
unless there is a reason or they have
seen a reason for such change.
Discontentment can be a strong
motivation in reaching out for that
change you desire. Let’s say the extent
to which you are fed up with your
current situation determines how
aggressive you will be in actualizing
the needed change.
Vision: Having a clear idea of where,
who or what you desire to be is half
the job of getting there. That simply
means that the process if change
begins with knowing where you
would rather be. So before the real
change you desire will happen, you
have to first sincerely answer the
question, “Where Do I Go from Here?”
If you do not have a vision of the kind
of change you want, how then would
you know how to create the change?
When you have a clear idea of the
change you want, it is easier to take
note and take the specific steps
needed to create your desired change.
Action: I don’t have to say much on this
one. I believe you already know that
nothing works until you act. There is
no meaningful and positive change
that is not a product of certain positive
action(s). You have the responsibility
to make it work. According to Johann
Wolfgang von Goethe, “Knowing is not
enough; we must apply. Willing is not
enough; we must do.”
Perseverance: Change most times
does not happen spontaneously. It is
equally not usually easy. It will often
require discipline and perseverance.
Sometimes it will seem that your
efforts aren’t giving the needed results
and you feel like giving up. However
you need to stick to the process until
you actualize your goal; knowing that
nothing good usually comes easy.
Just take the process bit by bit. If your
strategy seems not to be working,
change the approach but never give up
until you achieve your desires change.
