I have a neighbour who owns an opel zarifa 2.2 auto, he took it for shaft replacement, the mechanic left the key in its ignition but removed the battery terminal, on replacement on terminal, vehicle immobilizer demobilized the car and showed the dreaded car and spanner symbol, long story short, after many manipulation and kazeemization, he replaced ECU, keys and immobilizer unit all cost over 50K.
