EXPLORE WESTERN NIGERIA THIS SEASON
LOCAL TOUR OF IKOGOSI WARM SPRING, IDANRE HILLS AND MANY MORE FOR FREE.


*From a visit to Olumirin (Erin Ijesha) water fall in Osun State, to Ikogosi warm spring in Ekiti, then Idanre hills in Ondo State, this trip promises to be one to be remembered for a Long time.
DATE: August 7th to 10th

DAY 1
Depart Lagos for Idanre hills by 7am
Oke Idanre in Ondo is the First point of call.
Oke Idanre hill consists of high plain with spectacular valleys interspersed with inselbergs of about 3,000 ft above sea level. Its physical attributes include Owa's Palace, Shrines, Old Court, Belfry, Agbooogun foot print, thunder water (Omi Aopara) and burial mounds and grounds. It also has diverse and variegated eco-systems of flora and fauna. Oke Idanre contains very important bio-physical and land form features whose interaction with the physical features created an enduring cultural landscape within the setting.

Dinner is served and everyone retires for the day.
DAY 2

bBreakfast at the Hotel.
Ikogosi Water Fall in Ekiti is the next point of call.
Ikogosi warm spring, tucked away in the rustic and serene town of Ikogosi-Ekiti, is one of the tourist attractions that this country could be proud of because of the history and myth behind the attraction. What is mysterious about the Ikogosi Warm Spring is the fact that, flowing side by side the warm spring, is another spring, a cold one. IKOGOSI
The warm and cold springs of Ikogosi originate from a close proximity, come to a meeting point, and flow onward together with each spring retaining its thermal identity. The warm spring has a temperature of up to 70oC at the source and 37oC after meeting the cold spring. The meeting point of the warm and cold springs is a unique attraction to tourists.

DAY 3
Breakfast at the Hotel.
Erin-Ijesha Water Fall is the next point of call.
Erin Ijesha (Olumirin) is a seven step waterfall in Osun State, Nigeria, the waterfalls is a whole new exciting and awe inspiring experience with nature. Each step of the waterfall has a flowing fountain that marks the mystical nature of the place.The Erin-Ijesha Water Fall is a great work of nature located in a small village in Osun State. Here we discover the serenity and beauty of nature. With seven levels of fall and a rise of 40 meters, the ascension is adventurous and the water refreshing. The people of Erin-Ijesha believe that the water exudes from a big pot located at the top of the ridge. That is one big pot, isn’t it?
Lunch is served
Return to Hotel in Ile-Ife.

DAY 4
Breakfast at the Hotel.
The Ooni’s palace is the next point of call within Ile-Ife.
Ife bursts at the seam with the rich and full history of the Yoruba race. From Oduduwa to Oranmiyan, and to Moremi among many others, Yoruba history is engaging! We will visit the local courts, the temple of wisdom, the Yoruba historical museum, and if we’re lucky – we might even run into Oba Sijuwade, the Ooni of Ife himself.
Opa Oranmiyan’ (Oranmiyan’s staff) is our next point of call, also within Ile-Ife.
Opa Oranmiyan was a wooden staff used by Oranmiyan (a warrior and Yoruba legend), which is believed to have turned into concrete upon his death. A Local Priest will shed light on the experiences of Oranmiyan, a founding father of the Yoruba race, the pioneer Alaafin of Oyo and the fourth king of Ile-Ife.

The Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove, a World Heritage Center, is the next point of call.
The Grove is located on the outskirts of Osogbo. It is one of the remnants of tropical high forest in southern Nigeria. Covering an area of 75 hectares, the Grove is regarded as the abode of the Yoruba goddess of fertility, Osun. The natural forest is dissected by the Osun River and shrines and effigies connected by ritual paths are scattered across. It has five main divisions, devoted to different Yoruba deities, and nine specific worship points along the river.
It was recognized as a World Heritage Site in 2005 by UNESCO. The site plays host to the Osun-Osogbo festival which has held annually since 1370AD when it first started.
