I grew up on this street in the Island. We came back from church on a Sunday in November 1989 to meet the building in fire. A pregnant woman jumped from the third floor to escape the inferno. She sustained serious injury as she landed on a pointed stuff. Can't remember if she survived.

It took the men of the fire service about two weeks to completely extinguish that fire. We used to call that building "Ile Andrew". After the fire, it became our table tennis arena.

On this same street at no 79, Odunfa was the house Oyekan lived before becoming the Oba of Lagos.
