In 1983, Egwuatu was reported to have repeated
primary four, thrice. He was so dull that his class
teacher wrote him off as a waste of classroom
space. The teacher called him one day, looked him
in the eye and told him that he would never
amount to anything in life. One day Egwuatu's
father came to school to check out how his son
was doing. The teacher told him quite frankly that
she had never seen such a dumb boy in all her
life; and advised him to withdraw and enroll him
under a handicraft man because formal schooling
for Egwuatu would be a total waste of energy, time
and money. The father, shocked at the feedback,
withdrew his son from the school and the entire
family subsequently moved to India.
Two decades later, the class teacher was
diagnosed with a brain tumor. All the doctors she
met strongly advised her to undergo a surgical
procedure. They further affirmed that there was
only a certain doctor in the entire world (practicing
in India) who could perform this procedure. Left
with no other option, the teacher agreed to have
the surgery performed. She travelled to India,
performed the surgery and it was successful.
Several hours later, she woke up from the
anesthesia effect. When she opened her eyes, she
saw a handsome doctor smiling down at her. She
wanted to thank him but could not speak.
Suddenly her face started to turn pale. She
frantically made attempts to raise her hand and tell
him something but couldn't. She struggled till she
gave up the ghost and died. The doctor was
shocked and turned to the man that walked into
the room some minutes after he came in to see
what might have happened. He could not just
fathom what happened. Eventually he found out
that it was our dear friend Egwuatu (now working
as a cleaner in the Indian hospital) who had
walked in on that fateful day and foolishly
disconnected the lady's ventilator to connect his
phone charger.
Wait, You thought that Egwuatu became the
doctor? Hahahahahaha! Not in this my story... |
