My last job was a sales job. I was a marketer, even though at first I hated the job with passion.
But guess what, I eventually fell inlove with the job on the long run.

Here is my question, what is the company into? What does it entails?
Want to know if it fall in thesame firm that I was before I left.

You got a sales job, not a marketing job. They're completely two different things.

What does the new job entail? What are your responsibilities?

Sale is simply an exchange of good/service for money...marketing involves promotion and distribution of products(goods / services)
If there havnt been an exchange for money or its equivalent, sales have not taken place

Bisi is quite right. I run a marketing technology company, and basically what we do for a typical client is we create an ideal customer profile, generate them and nurture them till they're ready to do business with the company (ready to buy), then we handover to the sales people to close. What that means is a marketer identifies opportunities, initiates a conversation, and builds that conversation up to the point where the prospect feels pumped up enough to buy, then the sales team goes in and close the transaction. The sales guys handle presentations and !meetings.

What I've discovered is that most companies in Nigeria don't understand the difference, or at least they don't do it this way - they lump together the two responsibilities into one. Reason why they make the job stressful and difficult for their employees who end up giving up.
