Good move. Write your entry exams, pass and get admission into accredited institutions and spare yourself the fear of an invalid certificate.

Those online things are just as fake as the mirages on the roads.

Good move.

Not correct. The top ten universities in the world all run online programmes.
NUC should better get with the programme and stop living in stone age

Rather than ban all online programmes, why not state specific requirements for acceptance. Not everybody must physically travel to school, especially in this technological age. Otherwise how to u cater to business moguls, handicaps and local workers who are not given study leave.

we will always be backward in Nigeria,

In this modern age?You tell people not to get degrees online, hmmm
instead of them putting a mechanism in place to ensure that students would need to verify from you(NUC) before applying for such universities.

Which kind of country is this self?

You don't create an enabling environment for your students to study and yet you tell them not to study Abroad,

Woo unto NUC, I don't even know what they regulating self,

You are telling people not take online degrees,or upgrade their certificates online, There is no job security in NIGERIA,online school allows you to keep your job and still upgrade your qualification.

They should also ban the National Open University of Nigeria, since students don't receive lectures abi? I wonder the fools who think the world shouldn't evolve. . . All over the world, people are studying online... In fact online education is the future... The devil has so many people in Nigerian offices... but God isn't absent as well...

Don't be in a hurry to compose a reply if you have not fully understood the subject of the OP. NUC rejects online certificates where people do not have PHYSICAL CONTACTS with the school. With NOUN/Open University there's as much physical contact you can get, so much that you take your ass to the school to write your exams. Last semester alone, NOUN/Open University suspended over 200 of it's students for exam malpractice. How much PHYSICAL CONTACT do you need from that piece of info?

@OP
Meanwhile the MUMUs at NUC are at it again. The Prof in the OP has not given/raised any salient point that concurs with the banning. Meanwhile, why is banning the solution to everything in Nigeria? Ban Okada, Ban small buses, Ban this, Ban that meanwhile the problem still remains.

It's just satanic! The devil has an agenda to stop the lives of youths from moving foward in this country and he is using those i Government. . .

I advice any youth to go ahead and get any kind of education he /she has access to... At the end of the day, there's nothing the toothless dogs at NUC can do about it.

First of all, they banned part time programmes in Nigerian Unis knowing fully well that universities are not enough. Now it's this one....

these guys are idiots...

Am just wondering NUC banning online degrees obtained across borders, funny enough some online degrees Obtained in the uk and some other developed countries is even better than our full time school in Nigeria. They should be thinking of developing what we have here and not talking about banning online degrees across border. As for this Abacha Varsity I have never heard about it, they can banned that one if its reputation or academic standard is not poor. Please lets be focus Nigerians and face our challenges Nigeria is tool old for someone to say she is growing. IMAGINE TELLING A MAN OF 60YEARS THAT HE IS GROWING AND STILL A CHILD.

Rubbbissh....

People discrediting online degrees esp genuine ones don't know what they r saying.... They are very good, very educating and the best for a distant learning.

Whats the point? Why not ban distance learning programs in Nigeria.

They should just focus on making better our education system in Nigeria so that we can at least make 999th position.

The rationale behind this nonsense is the fact that most people would prefer these programs than going to real lectures in Nigerian universities to face wicked, sadist lecturers and a harsh condition.

I have 5 certifications online.... wonderful skills acquired. I have never been this happy with learning. Oyibo sabi!!!!!

Make we move forward o Nigeria!!!!! Haba!

Gud m0ve... Fraud 2 much

You will keep leaving in stone age and thinking backwards no hard feelings tho.

The best universities in the world which Nigeria didn't even make the 1000 list, most of them offer online courses.

You are in a country that does not guarantee you of a job when you go back to study in their so-called uni here, they will suffer you and stress you and you come and start walking from office to office to look for job,

They should create an appropriate channel where by students have to meet a requirement before they will given permission to attend online schools.

The certification I have online are business specialisation courses.

They expect me to go and pay 10million to go business schools.

Why not take different courses online that make up the business courses with less than a 100k with verfied certificates.
