What you earn in any organization is dependent on the financial might of the organization, the reward policy of the organization, and your position - not necessarily what you studied in school.

For example, some cleaners who work in an oil company earn more than software engineers, mechanical engineers, and accountants who work in a one man (sole proprietor) business.
