If you meet the cutoff point set by JAMB (180) but you are rejected by your university of 1st choice, JAMB will redirect you to another school for which you meet their admissions criteria.

For instance many students which had 180 as their jamb score were rejected by unilag because their cutoff was set much higher.
We spoke to a jamb official to get their position on this issue and were told this action was taken in the best interest of candidates. He went on to say that the action will minimize the number of candidate who will not be able to get admission to higher institution since in a typical year many schools end up with unfilled seats while others have more students than they can accommodate. This policy change will result in fewer students waiting for an extra year.
When asked what option a student has if he or she isn’t willing or able to attend the school select for them by JAMB, the official said the student will have to.......
