RAM stands for Random Access Memory, and it is simply known as working or multi-tasking memory for your android phone; and RAM management can do you whole lot of good in keeping your android apps and phone performance high at all time without unnecessary hanging and forced application closure.

Most times, unknowing to many is that some of the problems they face with their phones are as result of their devices running low in RAM.

Now taking 1gb RAM device as basis of discussion, If you are still using devices with 512mb RAM, it is time to upgrade to at least 1GB RAM device before technology will leave you crawling behind, as this is the era of 1GB RAM and above for all new devices.

= => Now are you the type that opens up to 10 different apps all the time without closing them and expect your 1GB RAM device to perform optimally? Then have to start closing those apps you always open and stick to 1 or 2 that you are currently using

Then if you must open more apps, make sure you close the ones not in use to help your devices perform well at every point in time.

Since RAM is working memory, it constantly changes depending on your activities, and virtually everything you do consumes certain amount of RAM, even when your phone is on standby mode, RAM is being used though maybe minimal because there are some apps designed to run invisibly on the background.

= => I was going through somebody’s phones the other time, can you imagine I saw about 3 different Flash Torchlight apps installed on the device.

I now asked the person in question, what he is doing with those 3 different but similar function performing apps all installed on his devices, and he couldn’t explain. I then told him to uninstall 2 and leave just one since they all perform similar functions.

In other words, some of you just keep on taking and installing both the apps that you make use of and the once that since you installed them, you have never made use of them.

Now ask yourself, of what use are those apps that you installed 6 months ago but have never opened them.

So it is a good practice to scan through your phones from time to time and do away with those types of apps that you never use, as they are just there occupying both your phone memory and consuming fractions of your RAM.

= => Now, you browse all the time and use other apps that requires internet; most times after making use of such apps, junk files or cached memories are built up and they adds up from time to time consuming your RAM and even slowing down your processor; why not do your phones some favour by clearing those junk files from time to time in order to free up RAM.

= => Your Phone memory uses RAM more as compared with SD cards, so you can also think of moving some of your raw and installed files/apps to SD cards in other to allow the phone memory and RAM to perform optimally without much glitch.
