It's like almost every topic in every thread in the Religion Section is always about negative reports on Churches, Pastors and Christian doctrine. There is no doubting the fact that some individuals or group of individuals had bastardised the sacred institution 'The Church' through their nefarious activities. We see a lot of people who are not deserving becoming pastors overnight due to unemployment and not due to callings or even proper training. We see some 'pastors' (quote and unquote) taking advantage of the situation in the country to exploit some Nigerians and as a result give bad names to the pastoral title and thereby bringing the Church to the place of disrepute.

If a Committee is set up by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on the way forward for Nigerian Churches and how to correct the perceived lapses seen in churches, and you are among the people elected to be on that committee, WHAT WILL BE YOUR SUGGESTIONS TO THE COMMITTEE?

. . . verily verily, this is one with a good understanding of the times.

Nothing can change it. The bible predicted everything that is happening to the "church" right now. If only people will avoid those useless crusades and stay home and open their bibles and be genuinely transformed. True christians and churches all around the globe should continue in their quiet, faithful walk with God, doing His will in whatever situation God has placed them in.

1. Jesoul how u dey , long time,

2. Yes u are correct nothing can change it, its simplz as dat, any attempts at correction only ends up resulting in more heresy becus ultimately those attempts amount to trying to prevent fufillment of prophesy.

3. A saved bible believer just needs to make sure he or she does not become one of those people that would be deceived, other than that however nothing can be done to stop the fufilment of prophesy

Exactly. We have our hands full with working out our own salvation daily and making sure we ourselves are not disqualified. The best we can do is speak for truth whenever the opportunity arises but as for the larger picture and the degenerate state of the so-called 'church' there is not stopping or 'fixing" it.

Interesting topic, i once wrote an article which also explains the problem with the church we also came to a conclusion that there is nothing that can be done about it. But individual christians should strive to do the will of God and share the truth with others (if they are willing to listen). You can check out the thread on this link: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-148850.0.html

Do you really think that nothing can be done about the situation?

God is still looking for the entire world to repent from their sins because Jesus has paid for sin at the Cross. It is possible to have good and bad ones all mixed together but leave the truth and judgement to God alone. Christianity is the most abused body in the world today. Nobody value the things of spiritual life except few. How do we view an educated man or woman going to shrine. Go to street or any public places and see whether this generation need God or not before talking about extortion in the Church. Remember homosexual and lesbian is advance in Nigeria today. Consider one thing, it take God and His word many years for one single soul to converted. Position of a Pastor is a gift from above.

You can pray. There can be a revival if we pray.Of course we need to believe it before even praying.Do you believe it?

There's prophecy that some will be saved, can't the Nigerian believer(s) be among that few.Must we all go ahead to fulfill the love of many shall wax cold?We can be among those that repent and endure to the end.We need a prayer for spiritual revival.A prayer that starts from individuals and homes.A heartfelt, heaven rending ought always to pray prayer. With God,all things are possible.

Yes with God,all things are possible. We have heard of revivals in the past in other countries. We could thirst and pray for a revival,a lasting revival.A revival of righteousness in our land. Our nation can be different. At least,in some negative sense,we're different.lets start being different in the positive. If the I and you and the individual ovr there decide to stand against the tide and wave of evil, soon, families will stand, soon fellowships, churches and denominations will stand and Christ will be glorified.
Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

We can fulfill this type of prophecy

We can fulfill this type of prophecy

1. I don't mean to be the 'spoil sport', i just have to make sure people don't try to pick and choose the realities we want to believe in contrary to what the bible makes clear.

2. Human attitudes of 'Yes We Can' is what got us into this mess since the garden of Eden, The same attitude that got the church into problems, The same attitude that makes bible believers think that 'they can fufil a certain type of prophecy via a sort of concerted effort or attitude'.

3. Prophecies are all fufilled in the time frame, condition and period already designated by יהוה Elohim' nothing more nothing less,  we can do nothing to change it, because His Words (which has already fixed the date, time and conditions for fufillment of prophecy) cannot change.

4. No we can't fufill anything, at best we can only 'show an evidence of the fufillment of prophecy' i.e. we only show the evidence of His word being True at that point in time (something that people erroneously think is the act of trying to instigate fuffillment of prophecy) or make sure we get the blessing and curse when and if the prophesy becomes fufilled.  The blessings or curses experienced regarding a prophecy are merely evidence of the fufillment of that prophecy, that actions preceeding, during and after the fufillment of those prophecies only determine who gets what (blessing or curses) those actions by cannot and never would make a prophecy fufilled before its time.

5. We have no power of own or effort by which we can try to make sure a prophesy is fufilled, our job is to tag along for the ride of fufillment of biblical prophecy as those prophecies are being fufilled according to the time frame and condition set by יהוה Elohim Himself and not according to our wants or desires.

6. Prophecies are fufilled in our lives because we tagged along and also found ourselves as the 'recipient' of that fufillment of prophecy, we ourselves are not the ones who brought the prophesy to via our own timetable. Instead by 'tagging' along during our lifetime, its was possible for prophecies that had been designated for fuffillment 'during our own lifetime' to come to pass, such that people would thus 'wrongly think' we are actually the ones who brought the fufillment. Instead being born at the right time location and period in history and also choosing to 'tag' along for the biblical journey made us into a 'receiving vessels' for the blessings and prophecy fuffillment that יהוה Elohim had already scheduled for fufillment in our generation.

7. Our efforts or consent towards such prophecies makes no difference, we are just here for the ride, hence our job is to
a first agree to tag along ourselves for the ride, (salvation and all)
b. then tell others about the ride
c. then also make sure that we ourselves don't fall off the ride during the journey
.

Hence when and if prophecies become fufilled in our own lifetime it is a bonus not a right. Being saved bible believers only makes us ready vessels through which prophecies that are predetermined by יהוה Elohim to be fufilled in our own lifetimes get to manifest in our lives for all to see in our own lifetime because we have already tagged along.

8. Yes only the Heavenly Father ( יהוה Elohim Creator of heaven and earth) can bring all prophecy to fufillment by His Word alone, whether or not we try to fufill them or not.
