‘FG needs aggressive strategy to increase cooking gas consumption’

The Executive Vice-Chairman of Techno Oil, Mrs. Nkechi Obi, has implored the federal government to mount aggressive campaign to make Nigerians switch from use of firewood/kerosene to cooking gas in Nigeria. She also tasked the government to provide incentives for investors to build refilling plants and tackle the challenges militating against the distribution of cooking gas in the country.
Obi, who disclosed this at a ceremony in Lagos to announce the construction of a multi-million naira Liquefied Petroleum Gas (cooking gas) cylinder manufacturing plant, said the development will improve public awareness on use of LPG and expose the danger inherent in long period of use of firewood and kerosene.
