Whenever the words 'child molestation' are being heard, what first
comes to the mind is the female child issues.

Nevertheless, unknown to many of us, male children are also molested
occasionally; and the ugly experience, just as it does to their female
counterparts, have the capacities of leaving life-long damages on the
male child.

One reason The male child molestation should be taken seriously is
because of the forms it takes: An older female molesting the child; or
An older male molesting the child.

Instead of Nigerian parents and the society giving less attention to
this, while giving more attention to the female child molestation, it
will be beneficial to all of us, if we know certain important tips
that can help prevent the male child molestation. Here are they:

1. TALK WITH YOUR MALE CHILDREN: When it comes to giving children sex
education, many parents have this mentality: 'A male child have no
'problem, it's the female child that have an issue.'

You talk to him too. You don't need to scare him in order to keep him
safe. Just as you teach a female child difference between appropriate
and inappropriate touching, teach your male children too.

As early as age 3, children should understand that parts of their body
are private and that it's not okay for just anyone to touch them. It
will go a long way in protecting them from predators
