Most of those who do so do so ignorantly. However, the descriptions of Jesus in the three synoptic gospels are what most Christians have come to picture Jesus to be (which is right). The problem however is "setting" the picture, image, sculpting or 'representation' is idolatry. The picture you attached is not in any way idolatory; that's only an illustration of Matt 14:26-31.

Concerning the Holy Spirit. Almost every church using 'a white dove' is right because one of the descriptions of the Holy Spirit is as a dove, in some places, wind, some other places a still small voice and sometimes 'Spirit'. I've never heard of a church worship the Holy Spirit or set an image in its place.

Where is there a description of Jesus in the Gospels?

Most "images of Jesus" today are based on Leonardo da Vinci's paintings. And he used his uncle as the model.

Before this there have been other paintings and statues that look completely different from those that exist today. Some of the oldest even depict Jesus as a black man.

So these "illustrations" you see today, are what Leonardo's uncle looked like. And are a result of the white man deciding that God and Jesus are white men.

One question? What do we call the man who married our mother and made her pregnant? Father, right? If we're to look at the passage you gave denotatively, then almost everyone on earth has disobeyed Christ and we're hell bound for call someone "father".

Reading and ascribing surface meaning to most of the Scripture is not ideal. What that passage means is that we should not put an earthly being in an exalted position of reverence just as we put God, the Father.

The implication of this is tantamount to idolatry because we have just one Father. The passage best works against the Catholic church and other denominations who confess their "sins" to the 'father', one who in turn tells them to go and sin no more.

Again, Jesus' teaching in Matt 23:9 refers to men who have been exalted and put (in our hearts) in the place of God.

You are the one ascribing surface meaning to that passage. Otherwise you would have realised, from the context, that the passages does not refer to biological fathers, but 'fathers in the church', hence Jesus' reference to both the term rabbi and father.
Do you call your biological father 'rabbi' (teacher). Or when you call your pastors 'father', are you implying they married your mother?
Maybe the New Living Translation will put it in perspective for you (Matt 23:8-9)

Don't let anyone call you 'Rabbi,' for you have only one teacher, and all of you are equal as brothers and sisters.
And don't address anyone here on earth as 'Father,' for only God in heaven is your spiritual Father.
