Nigeria Ranked Lowest in sub-Saharan Africa in per capita usage of LPG
According to a current survey on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) consumption in Sub-Saharan Africa, Nigeria which is the largest Economy in Africa is currently ranked lowest in LPG(Cooking Gas) usage in sub-saharan Africa. This is a big irony considering the fact that Nigeria has the largest LPG reserves in Africa
Highlighting this further in an event with stakeholders, Nkechi Obi the Executive Vice Chairman of Techno Oil Ltd an indigenous energy group, lamented that Nigeria is still ranked lowest in sub-Saharan Africa in per capita usage of LPG, consuming 1.1kg compared with Ghana at 3.0kg.``South Africa consumes 5.5kg, while Morocco consumes 44kg per capita.

The Techno Oil chief argued that making more Nigerians to embrace cooking gas instead of using firewood would help in the drive to sustain the environment and preserve the fragile Eco-system.
