ode Lason answer is
Bodmas
No BOD so left with MAS
3 X 3 = 9 M
3+9=12 and 3+3 = 6 A
Then S
12 - 6 = 6

listen to what they are telling you and stop talking trash. People thathave over ten years teaching experience in the field of mathematics at the University level are correcting you and you are busy talking about what calculator says. The little knowledge you have in mathematics is only telling you -3+3=0 in the equation and you ignore the rules of mathematics.

What is this?

Oga go and eat

Don't just open a thread just like this other one www.nairaland.com/2486149/many-persons-fail-maths-photo opened earlier without eventually putting up the solution. Whats the purpose of such threads? OP, have u gat the Authentic solution or not? If its meant to educate people, you should be ready to provide the correct answer with proof and not like that one that got people arguing from 1st page to the 12th page without the proof of correct solution.

Hey, there is a solution to that answer but nobody has written it here.

You are very wrong!!!

I know what is confusing most of you.

BODMAS is actually:
B
O
DM
AS

Division and Multiplication rank equally, so do Addition and Subtraction

Help me tell them oo

Which mumu bodmas are you using? Are you not the one adding unnecessary bracket to the equation. You can see the answer on a calculator and Google to be 12 and you people are still shouting 6. The answer is 12.
From the equation, the only thing you jump is first addition because multiplication comes before addition. Addition and subtraction are on the same level so you treat from left to right.
understand this

B O D M A S

no bracket, no division whats next? lets do the multiplication.

3 + (3 x 3) - 3 + 3

3 + 9 - 3 + 3

So whats next lets do the addition

12 - 6 = 6

the answer is 6

compare 3+3*3-3+3 and 3+3*3-(3+3)
hapheeyxz:
3+3*3-3+3=6. why is it 6? now we introduce BODMAS and can only get the answer if we use it how it should be used.let's start now
B for bracket( )
O for of
D for division
M for multiplication
A for addition
S for subtraction.
from d equation we are concerned about> MAS
I.e we do d multiplication first so we have
3+9-3+3 we can separate it for better understanding as in (3+9)-(3+3) now we add and we have
12-6 which is equal 6.

using ur formula
-3+3=0,
(3*3)0=0
then ur Ans should
3+(0)=3

it cant be six(6).

how can u equate (3+9-3+3 ) to ((3+9)-(3+3)? mr hapheeyxz.

the negative sign is for only (-3) not -(3+3).

re-opening your bracket would give us (3+9-3-3) so is (3+9-3-3)=(3+9-3+3)?
thanx bro. MODIFIED.

(3+3+3-3)*3= (6*3)=18.

Changed my view. Based on bodmas, you multiply before addition and subtraction, no need for the bracket

3+3*3-3+3= 3+9-3+3=12+0=12.

Use excel or calculator to verify.

Its so annoying. I wonder whether they went to school at all

Or maybe the govt was owing their Maths teacher salaries.

-3 + 3 will always be zero. Those that think the answer is 6 or -6 should be flogged in public

A number possess a sign that precedes it (e. g -4 +6 mean 4 has d -ve & 6 has d +ve) if you wish to put it in bracket you have -(4-6) and NOT -(4+6)

sorry guy, you don't know how to use BODMAS,
It's (3)+(3*3) -3 +3, minus 3 cancels +3
=> 3+9 = 12

It's 12
