Fenerbache’s Mehmet Topal has escaped unhurt after being shot at in Istanbul while driving home from training on Tuesday, the club reported.

The Turkish club release the picture of a hole in the windscreen, showing how close the player came to being hit. Luckily for the 29-year-old midfielder, his car was bullet proof and too the impact. The attackers, whose motive is unknown, fled the scene.

A statement released by the club read thus: “This attack is an armed terrorist act. We condemn these attacks and hope the perpetrators are found and brought to justice.”

According to reports, 20-year-old Fenerbache player Uygar Mert Zeybek was also in the car with Topal and was unharmed.
The reason for the attack is unknown, but the Fenerbache team bus was shot at earlier this year and the driver was wounded in the city of Trabzon, making the second attack on the club this year.
