Hello everybody, firstly I want to say that this is my very first post smiley

I am curious to see if this si a good place to get insight into a troubling situation that I am in. I am in my late 30's and have been with my wife for 4 years. we are very happy but are not able to have children.

We have been trying for a while but now we need to get help, there is too much information on Google to know what is good info and what is not, so I am asking all of you. hope you can help.

We have not been to any clinic, only to our GP. there is talk about adoption... IUI, IVF, it seems a bit overwhelming, can you tell me from experience what you would suggest we do...
God Bless

op, have u gone to see any doctor before now, I meant a doctor dat specialized in obstetrics and gynecology, not all dose parading demselves as fertility doctors?
as much as 5% of couples have dis problem.
dere are many things to be checked and visit a teaching hospital for thorough examination and am sure u will come back with a smile.

I would advise u to go for some test, urs is semen fluid analysis and ur wife her hormonal profile and hsg to check the patency of her fallopian tubes.if every thing is ok,dont just jump into ivf,it should be the last option. GP- are you in the UK? 4 years without getting tested. You need to get all of the female hormone test carried out fish, lh, prolactin, progesterone btw day 2-5 and get the progesterone tested after ovulation to check if wife is ovulating. You need to get yourself tested as well.

First and foremost, I will enjoin you to act fast. This is because with infertility, the older one is, the lower the chances of successful conception.

Now to your question of which is the best Fertility clinic in Nigeria. The truth is, the answers you will get here will be subjective. So, in Nigerian parlance, "Shine your eye"

That said, I answered a similar question on Quora and I think it might help you in making informed decision. My Quora answer reproduced below:

"You probably mean which fertility clinic has the highest success rates. Well, the answers you will get will be subjective mainly because of absence of objective data on the success rates of fertility clinics in Nigeria.

This notwithstanding, I will still say the top two fertility clinics in Nigeri are Nordica Fertility Center, Lagos and, the Bridge Clinic. In terms of number of successful birth, The Bridge clinic is the top with 1800 babies. Nordica comes second here with about 1300 babies. Please note that The Bridge Clinic started four years before the Nordica Clinic, so total number of babies born might not be the best method of assessment.

In terms of quality of personnel and equipment, the two clinics are still the best in Nigeria. Though Nordica has a slight edge here because they are the only fertility Clinic in Nigeria that all their doctors are specialist gynaecologists.

And in terms of facilities and equipment, both clinics are world class. Even though it is believed that Nordica has the advantage here over all other clinics in Nigeria, this has not been verified by a third party.

Now if cost is a concern to you, you should probably consider the Government hospitals . The top two are National Hospital Abuja and, University of benin Teaching Hospital".
.
