Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has said Delta State would remain a favourable destination for investors.

The Governor gave the assurance during the commissioning of Lee Oasis Supermarket, Warri and ground breaking ceremony of Trebet A1 Factory Extention at Uvwie all in Delta State.

According to him, we are a very friendly and peaceful people, we have a lot of human and natural resources, obviously, Delta State is the place to be when you talk about investment.

While commending Chief Leemon Ikpea, Executive Chairman of Lee Group of Companies for his interests in expanding his business frontiers in the State, Governor Okowa, observed that the traditional rulers, youths and women are involved in the creation of enabling environment for investments to thrive, assuring that the $16 billion EPZ project is on course in the State.


Dr. Okowa used the occasion to inform Deltans who collected forms for the State government's empowerment programmes of extension of the submissions of the forms to Sunday, July 12, 2015 and disclosed that completed forms can be submitted through the traditional rulers, members of the Delta State House of Assembly, Chairmen of local government councils or through online.

Senator Okowa who disclosed that the first 6, 000 direct beneficiaries of the empowerment programmes would commence their business in the next six months, seized the opportunity of the event to urge Deltans to remain patient with his administration, noting that he would not renege in his campaign promises.

At the ground breaking ceremony, the Governor disclosed that in his administrations quest for conducive environment for traders, contractors have been mobilized to work at the Sapele market while those who would construct the market at Orerokpe will be at the project site in the next couple of weeks.

Earlier, Chief Ikpea told the Governor that his organization is committed to realizing an ultra modern processing factory fitted with state of art equipment for the production of various premium juices, carbonated drinks and water and assured his Excellency that as players in the organized private sector they would continue to partner with his administration for the prosperity and overall development of Delta State.
