2D OR 3D
When planning for your next CG startup you have to be sure of what you want to do ,you have to know where your heart lies,where your passion lies,what you enjoy doing,so make your choice of what you are going to do,are you going to be doing just 2D or 3D ,and if you are going for 3D are you just going to do animation or modeling or both ,know where your passion lies and bring it to life,you will always get maximum results when you do what you love .

FAST AND EFFECTIVE COMPUTERS
This is a factor that you just can not overlook,you need the best of the best,fast computers,massive RAMs,super effecient graphics card ,lightening speed processors ,and everything you need to have the fastest computer,and regarding efficiency,you have to consider battery life (for mobile workstations),screen size and so on.I know finances might come in to play for your choice ,but always make sure you get the best that your money can buy.Check out my article on things you should consider before choosing a computer for CG

PERIPHERALS
Computers can't do it all ,think of better ways of speeding up your production,consider other gadgets that will make your production professional-mocap suites,high definition cameras,3d printers,3d scanners and so on.


POWER
Now my major comes in -(Electrical Engineering),no electronics can run without power ,the issue is the source of power.In Nigeria for example we have a huge power problem ,so you have to consider what source of power you will be using,be it a generator ,solar,inverters and so on,from an engineering point of view i will advice you choose wisely because your decision on what power plan you choose will immensely affect your budget and have a huge ripple effect in your productions.

YOUR TEAM
I have never really being an advocate for considering only people with a degree for CG (its my opinion,you should not consider only people with a degree),or someone with 15 years experience or 5 years experience (it doesnt really matter),I believe and i know there are just 3 major things you should look out for in a person before employing him or her - CREATIVITY,TEAM WORK ABILITY AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS,this is CG and not some executive job where you have to pour out all the knowledge you have crammed out of massive books ,its CG ,its art ,its a feeling,its all about creativity folks ...choose wisely .........

WORKSPACE
This is where your entire CG team will have physical communication,with themselves and their computers ,so please plan and choose you workspace environment wisely,a poorly ventilated environment is bad for your team and for the computers!!!,colors matter a lot,consider art paintings on the walls ,sculptures of humans and animals,and the likes, all these can give your team the inspiration they need ,make the environment feel alive !!!!

WEBSITE
The digital age is growing faster than organisms !!!!!.Everybody is online people rarely want to visit offices anymore ,they just want to sit at the comfort of their homes and get things done,hence a website is as important as your workspace itself,when i say a website i dont mean just a jumbled up arrangement of html and php codes ,i mean a website that will make your prospective customers feel your presence,its a CG company for crying out loud a badly or poorly designed website will send customers away !!!! .

SOFTWARE
Kindly use the best software that will give you the best results ,in the quickest possible time,period.

COMPETITION
Yeah competition,i can't finish this article without mentioning this.What are the people that started before you doing wrong and how can you correct that,what are they doing right and how can you be better,what have they not taught of,and how can you be innovative enough to create the unthinkable,what is their selling point and what do you intend to use as yours ......ponder on these things.
