The two Blues players, who have found themselves on the fringes of Jose Mourinho's starting XI in recent months, have both been left out of Sunday Oliseh's selection

Chelsea duo John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses have been omitted from Sunday Oliseh's first squad as Nigeria coach, as they prepare for an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania.

Oliseh, appointed in July, has named an 18-man squad for the clash on September 4 but the two Blues men, who have played just nine minutes of competitive football thus far in 2015-16, have been left out.

The Nigerian Football Federation alluded to the decision in the statement accompanying their announcement of the squad.

"There are a number of surprises, in line with Oliseh's earlier pledge to make current form and first -level football key indices for selection to the Super Eagles," the NFF statement read.

"There are goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, midfielder Izunna Ernest Uzochukwu and forwards Emem Eduok, Sylvester Igboun and Moses Simon."

Moses has 24 caps for Nigeria, while Mikel has 64.

mr man puchi onu! I don't know why some of you like wishing others bad in this country.
So his excluding those two chelsea flops from the squad guarantees him failure?
He did what keshi didn't have the balls to do all this while.

Apart from his overwhelming flopped career at chelsea, Mikel single-handedly took us out of the world cup. To me, mikel is just like a die-hard chelsea supporter - he only follows chelsea about to watch their games.

So why should someone like that be included in our first team squad?

Victor moses is another flop. His days in wigan athletic were the best of his career.
After chelsea signed him, which subsequently he was called to the national team, he started losing form.
The last time he did well for the national team was at the previous nations cup we won.
After then, he's been totally off his game.
And don't also forget that he's also never got a first team shirt since he left wigan.
He was a total flop at liverpool. Now back at chelsea struggling.

The annoying thing about these players is that, at their clubs they hustle hard to perform, but they come home and start jugging about the pitch, playing "big men football".

I had vowed not to ever watch the "super chickens" play again. But after seeing this new steps taking by the NFF, oliseh, i may be a little bit interested in watching the game against tanzania.

Cheers!

Btw, op this thread should be in the sports section.
