I still can't comprehend how an institution like University of Ilorin has consistently been on the first five list in any ranking.Knowing well It's a 2nd generation university with lesser alumni to school in the !st generation(UI,OAU,UNN,ABU.UNILAG).This can only ascertain the reason why they are BETTER BY FAR

A hitch-free degree programme is a very good one but it's not enough. Unilorin is reputable for their rocket-like calendar but of what effect is an extremely fast programme to students of the school? A student of Unilorin will gladly admit that the grace to read and understand is missing among students of the school. The competition has always been between University of Ibadan and the Obafemi Awolowo University.

All these Road side metrics just don't add up. While OAU is a good university by Nigerian standards their syllabus (at least for computer science) is antiquated. For Chrissake who learns FORTRAN in school in this age? Simple concepts like Deadlocks (in Operating Systems) or Pushing and Popping Data Structures or even basic search algorithms most of their graduates cannot properly handle.

Until we our Unis get ranked by USA News (or is it USA Today not to sure now) then I know we getting serious. These are institutions whose ranking metrics are clearly elucidated and adequate comparison can be made between and across schools
