Boleyn
I am one of Henry
VIII’s wives;
The one known for my
apparent lies
Accused of adultery for
one,
Truth was I couldn’t
bear him a son
So let me tell you of my
woeful tale,
As it all began with
jousting and ale
Lady Jane Seymour’s
arrival came at a cost;
The battle for Henry’s
love was finally lost.
And so did my right and
need of the throne,
Still, my agendas were
safe and unknown.
My dream for my
daughter is to be seen,
As England’s most
gracious and powerful
Queen
Hear my final words;
take in the last advice,
I wish I’d known, my
mother did warn me
twice.
Never tempt the gallant
king with pride, money
or joy,
Unless you can promise
to grant him a boy.
Alas, it is time. I can
hear the crowd roar,
People don’t seem to
care about my life
anymore.
The King has given
mercy upon my head,
With sterling silver
crashing down,
rendering me dead.
My marriage to Henry,
had allowed me to
reign,
And create a new
religion that was not in
vain.
Know my love for Henry
was destined and true,
I concede that there is
nothing I can do. |
