The man who shot and killed a Virginia reporter and photographer - turned a gun on himself, but survived the shooting. Police say they found him with a pulse, but he's in critical condition.

A disgruntled former news reporter who shot dead two of his ex-coworkers during a live TV segment this morning (Read Here), is in very critical condition after attempting to kill himself.  It was previously reported that Flanigan had died after shooting himself, but authorities are now saying that he still has a pulse.

Viewers of WDBJ, a small news station in Moneta, Virginia, watched in horror this morning as the sacked former employee shot dead 24-year-old reporter, Alison Parker and cameraman, 27-year old Adam Ward, as the two were filming a live segment just before 7:00am.

Flanigan, who is African American, fled the scene after the shooting and then took to Twitter to explain his reasons for killing his former co-workers, all while being pursued by police.

After cameraman dropped to the ground, his camera kept rolling and the shooter is seen in the background pointing a gun at him.

He wrote that Parker made 'racist comments' and that a complaint was filed against her through the equal employment opportunity commission, but his station chose to hire her anyway.

As for Ward, Flanigan says that after working with the cameraman once, Ward complained to HR about the former general assignment reporter. It's unclear what exactly happened between the two men.

The shooter - Flanigan previously worked at WDBJ as a General assignment reporter.

But the most shocking post of all was a video Flanigan took of the attack, which he shared on his Twitter. The chilling clip is taken from Flanigan's point of view and shows him approaching the two journalists as they were interviewing Vicki Gardner, the local chamber of commerce.

He opened fire first on Ward and then turns to kill Parker. Parker and Ward died at the scene while Gardner was rushed to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for emergency surgery.

After posting the graphic video of the attack, Flanigan's Twitter account was suspended.

Emergency surgery? What a waste of resources.... Letting him die patiently is enough punishment. Naija....... jungle Justice straight.

No matter what level of education and professional life black Americans attain, they can never leave the ghetto mentality behind
