frozen fish seller, 55-year-old Tawa Kollington, on Thursday appeared before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly obtaining N3.9 million frozen fish under false pretences.
Kollington, whose is address unknown, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and obtaining money under false pretences.
She pleaded not guilty.
But the prosecutor, Insp. Roman Unuigbe, told the court that the accused committed the offences in December 2014 at No. 4, Rowland St., Alakuko, a Lagos suburb.
Unuigbe said Kollington obtained cartons of fish valued at N3.9 million, property of Mr Lawrence Olowokere with the promise to pay by installment.
“He sold the cartons of fish, but refused to pay as promised since 2014.’’
