I have been asked by my office to choose either of toyota corolla(2011) or rav4 (2005)?

The rav4 will be bought from cotonou while the corolla was used by my boss for two years.It was bought as a new car.so no major fault so far.

I live at obalenda where the roads are relatively good. Cost of maintenace and beauty is a major issue for me

guys,please help me make a choice.

both cars are really sweet rides if i am honest, if you ask me to pick one though, and you say the corrola is really neat and well maintained, i will go for the corolla.

Both vehicles cannot be compared. It's and apple to orange comparison. However, all things being equal; the Corolla will offer a better MPG because of the size of the engine & body. The Rav4 is heavier both in the engine and body. They are targeted at different audience. The corolla is a compact car while the Rav4 is a crossover SUV. In terms of maintenance, using original parts they would come at almost the same cost.

Depending on what you want out of a car, you need to analyse your reason for ownership. Since the corolla is a more recent model and if properly maintained I would most likely choose it ahead of the 2005 Rav4.
