If you're concerned about fuel economy, don't buy a V6-engined car, unless it's no larger than a 2,0.
If you want lots or power and torque, then go for the V6.

The Camry 2,2 I4 - 133hp.
The Camry 3,0 V6 - 194hp.

I'm a performance junky, so I'd go for the larger engine. It's much smoother than the rough I4 could ever be, and will last longer, as it'll be underworked compared to the smaller I4, which will need to be revved hard to extract it's 133 horses.

In terms of maintenance, the V6 could be daunting to the average Nigerian mechanic, who probably can't tell one end from the other.
So, if you're good at wrenching, or are prepared to use real technicians, then I'd go with the V6 anyday.
