So? You forgot to add California is part of a country called the USA. It is the most populated state in America of over 38 million. The US itself is a wealthy country, what you just did is picking the wealthiest portion of the US then comparing it with the rest of the world. It doesn't make sense. It's like picking only Lagos in Nigeria and comparing it with the rest of Africa while we know for fact Lagos is built by the collective effort of all Nigerians and some of government and private companies most juiciest projects are all concentrated there. The GDP of Lagos alone is higher than 13 states in the US BTW.
