Unilag 40 questions are standard questions no doubt about that No system is perfect, same goes to unilag putme. In some skuls mathematics isn't required for courses in law, FAC of art, some edu and social science courses. UI comes to mind and maybe oau.
This is because mathematics isn't really important for those courses. Even as part of jamb combo, some science courses esp Medical related courses compulsorily do not require mathematics.. That is why some don't do well in putme it's not because they are dull and don't forget unilag does not set basic maths in its putme It would have been better if they set konk maths for the engineering student and basic maths for non science student, but subjecting Philosophy candidate and engineering candidate to the same level of maths is wickedness.

Both unilag and jamb questions are standard. jamb has credibility pblm, unilag is wicked to non science student.

Even at that, it won't bring out the best. it will now be a function of luck. Those who guess right will be given admission.

I see no reason why u support our skul blindly, even havard is criticize against, student of UI calling for the sack of their vc. that shows no system is perfect.

There is no justification testing a law student on mathematics as a criteria for admission.

No take dem serious o before they usually say 180 minimum for all skul but this year they talk say 180 minimum but UI, OAU and Unilag can use 200.

Don't take Fg serious o and remember APC and lies are 5 and 6.

If jamb is a test of knowledge, what stopped your so-called intelligentsia's from coming out tops in p.utme?

Anyway, I have cousins that got into University before post jamb started and trust me, there was no merit when one chose Unilag at first attempt.
The second one runsed his admission and finally got English Edu instead of Law.
I am sure that was an era that gave people notion that Unilag admission is never based on merit till today when actually things changed when post utme was introduced.

well I welcome ideas, hence i dont argue blindly, so i score u point as regards to the lack of merit in those years admission. But believe u me that doesnt mean the govt is re.tarded in its decision cos schools can now roll out their merit cut-off to 230-250, meaning people who are laggards academically can never gain admission to such schools. Having said that, screening can come in different forms to corroborate higher merit scores. so a body like jamb set-up by an act, gaining momentum in different countries due to its innovations yearly can never be jettisoned cos it will amount to waste.

200 is the general cut off,at worse,there will be departmental cut off for jamb.Like 270 for Medicine,260 for Law and so like that but I don't think Unilag will follow the "no post utme"

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Thursday said it had yet to fix a date for its 2016 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) .

The Deputy Registrar Information, Toyin Adebule, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

He spoke on the heels of mounting pressure from candidates who chose UNILAG as first choice, waiting to sit for the examination.

According to Adebule, the department in-charge of admission will work out all the necessary modalities before announcing the date to all concerned.

NAN reports that some state and federal universities have started announcing dates for post-UTME examination in their respective institutions.

“No date has been fixed for our Post-UTME for now. The official in-charge of admissions is to attend a stakeholders meeting where the national cut off for admission will be decided.

It is only after then that she will come back and sit with the UNILAG admissions committee to deliberate on the outcome of the meeting. After critical deliberations, the committee’s position will be presented to the university authorities for approval.

It is only after all these logistics are put in place that we can decide on an appropriate date for the post-UTME examination,” Adebule said.

He, therefore, urged all qualified candidates who made the institution their first choice during the 2016 Computer Based Test (UTME) to constantly visit the institution’s website for updates.

The Deputy Registrar said whenever the management fixed the date, it would also reach out to the candidates through the media.

Concerning cut-off,it's based on general performance.So it depends on how high or how low the aspirants of Philosophy have.Let's wait till Unilag say something about this issue on ground.
