Hebrews 10:26 Amplified Bible (AMP)
26 For if we go on willfully and deliberately sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice [to atone] for our sins [that is, no further offering to anticipate],

Does this verse in its context mean what the church interpreted it to mean? I need some help here please. Lord our fortress bless you as you contribute.

sounds like that as i was taught and agree we should run away from sin but which sin is willful or delibrate and which sin is not. say for example a man sleeps with another man's wife; isn't it willful n deliberate or did both of them just jump into the act? besides the context that led to this verse seems to differ. what can u say about that please?

The sin implied there is the one that cannot be purged by sacrifice; by neither Christ's sacrifice nor another. This pitiable condition is reached when someone shuts out the sacrifice of Christ from his heart. It occurs when one has stopped believing in the atonement of Christ. In fact, that's one of the leading verses in the subject of apostasy. Every sin is perpetrated by some will in man, and every sin can be forgiven. The fear of the apostle is that some people do not care. Their I don't care attitude leaves then sinning again and again while they give no second thought, nor consider repentance at all. They shun with impunity, and sadly, sometimes, they despise God's ministers and are not afraid to belittle and castigate them. The verse announces the catalogue of those who also claim that no one may tell them how to lead their lives. They're a special people for whom God reserves most horrible perdition. It's unthinkable that any believer can fall to such a deplorable condition, but it does happen. The scripture does not refer to ordinary sinners, or baby believers who manifest carnality a few times, it refers to those who had been sound believers before. While every believer is expected to strive to attain perfection, the perfect believer must take heed because the floods, storms, rains and winds will strike. Temptations will multiply. Every sin leads to eternal judgement. But sinning after having attained perfection will lead to eternal loss. We must approach the Advocate with the Father when we sin, but we must insist before Him that we cannot continue in sin. THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH

in your spiritual walk with God, they are two kinds of knowledge. the head knowledge and the revealed knowledge. the head knowledge is that which you get from reading and studying the Bible, but the revealed knowledge is that which the holyghost reveals to you by virtue of his will through his word still. revealed knowledge makes you see beyond the ordinary, it transforms you from a normal church goer Christian to a person with unusual knowledge of God.jesus had revealed knowledge of the laws and the prophet but the Pharisees only had head knowledge. it is the depth to which you have been exposed to revealed knowledge that tells how deep you are in your Christian walk.. what the scripture you quoted is saying is that, if a man has been exposed to revealed knowledge, yet he chooses to sin wilfully, then such a man will be difficult to save.. I hope you get it.

When you bleep someone else's wife or husband, knowing fully well that it is an adultery, you will go to hell. Your visa to hell is your knowledge of the adultery you commited.

From The Living Bible
26 If anyone sins deliberately by rejecting the Savior after knowing the truth of forgiveness, this sin is not covered by Christ’s death; there is no way to get rid of it.
27 There will be nothing to look forward to but the terrible punishment of God’s awful anger, which will consume all his enemies.

Can anyone know the truth of forgiveness and Still willingly sin and reject Christ? Its impossible...
But if you can reject Christ after knowing the truth about your sins being forgiven then Christ's death won't cover your sins... But unfortunately this is almost impossible.

What the author of the letter to the Hebrews meant is that Jesus Christ --- God's Law and Truth in the Kingdom of God --- is the ultimate/last chance at redemption God has made available to the israelites who have all been judged and condemned by the God of Israel. There is no other way to come for them. undecided

Basically, your churches lie to you with their many interpretations of even this one verse. undecided
