“These exemptions are tour bus/passenger buses, fire service trucks, rescue and recovery trucks, petrol trucks, perishable farm products trucks, refuse collection trucks, cement mixer trucks, tractors and refrigerated trucks,”

Abeg with this list of exemptions na which type of truck them wan come ban? Are these listed exemptions not the ones currently cursing problems for motorist? This is just so daft, we are running out of sense in this country...thanks to dullard.dinho.

Nothing hurts more than the fact that this common sense change had to cost us three lives before we took it serious.

Again, I hope those in charge of enacting this law don't collect bribes.

O shaaro Monday o

Dont worry. Nigerians themselves would be the ones enforcing this law

Yea everybody would have to schedule ahead of time. The roads are not good, vehicles are not controlled to determine their roadworthiness, why would there not be these kinds of accidents? On an aside, wat post are you guys talking that was on frontpage that did not sound good...

Fair enough. The most culpable are the container carrying trailers.
I think petrol tankers are equally worrisome, why is it that Nigeria can't or don't always want to solve problems completely.

Of all articulated vehicles, tankers and trailers are the worst killers. So why allow tankers that kills in hundreds to ply the road after banning trailers. Ban all articulated vehicles and save lives. Period!!! angry

Re: Lagos Exempts Petrol Tankers, Trucks From Daytime Restriction by Awoofawo(m): 9:51am On Sep 14, 2015
Actually allowing the petrol tankers to operate during the day is best option here. Reason, should any of them crash, it would be more easier for folk to evacuate in event of fire outbreak in daylight.......
BlackPeni5:
Whats the difference...the bigger hazard are the petrol tankers. Apart from frequent crashes, they can cause serious fires that are much more devastating.

This one between a Trailer and a Tanker happened just yesterday in the South South...
