Step 1
Ask yourself questions that'll help you identify whether you're in a cult, and answer them honestly.
Here's a sample checklist:
The group displays excessively zealous and unquestioning commitment to its leader and (whether he is alive or dead) regards his belief system, ideology, and practices as the Truth, as law.
Mind-altering practices (such as meditation, chanting, speaking in tongues, denunciation sessions, and debilitating work routines) are used in excess and serve to suppress doubts about the group and its leader(s).
The leadership dictates, sometimes in great detail, how members should think, act, and feel (for example, members must get permission to date, change jobs, marry—or leaders prescribe what types of clothes to wear, where to live, whether or not to have children, how to discipline children, and so forth).
The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader(s) and members (for example, the leader is considered the Messiah, a special being, an avatar—or the group and/or the leader is on a special mission to save humanity).
The leader is not accountable to any authorities (unlike, for example, teachers, military commanders or ministers, priests, monks, and rabbis of mainstream religious denominations).
Subservience to the leader or group requires members to cut ties with family and friends, and radically alter the personal goals and activities they had before joining the group.
The group is preoccupied with bringing in new members.
The group is preoccupied with making money.
Members are expected to devote inordinate amounts of time to the group and group-related activities.
The most loyal members (the “true believers”) feel there can be no life outside the context of the group. They believe there is no other way to be, and often fear reprisals to themselves or others if they leave (or even consider leaving) the group.

Step 2
Take it easy. Don't panic and just rush out. Determine the best way of leaving.

Step 3
Leave

Step 4
Recover. Either by going to a psychiatrist (which will cost you money), or, if you're diligent enough, de-programming yourself online.

Step 5
Start recovering.




Now, I've been a member of a CE branch for 6 years, and f*! Haven't I wasted my time.
I'm not trying to get any of you still there, or in any other Word-Faith Nigerian churches, to step out of it - that will be by your own conviction. I'm here to help those who want to get out.

Am an atheist, but I will like to start attending CHRIST EMBASSY. I love pastor chris' dressings and the members dressings.



Forget RCCH hype, most, i repeat MOST RCCG churches are boring and dont dress dope like love world. Infact, from next semester, i'll checkout love world fellowship.

Don't ask of course i started attending the Church and surely made a friend though unfortunately had to head back to Enugu before i got the chance to hit.

Simple pretend to be a brother in Christ
Be punctual in the activities (even though you don't know the name just go anywa as long as it is done in the church)

I was a calm good brother seeking Christ inside the Christ embassy Church. That worked great to relate with others

It never fails to work, especially when you make it look as if it was the babe that "brought" you to christ.

My advice, be prepared, cos they'll try to convince you you've backslid. I mean "who knows God more than Pastor Chris?"

Then depending on your level of commitment they may include a little threat hear and there. It my even include something like a subtle death threat. But it'll come disguised as godly counsel to turn you away from this cause you are on, so as to avoid so and so. You will wonder hah..."nor be me alone waka come?"

The reaction I got made me thank the Most High for leading me to make the decision. I even wished I had made the decision earlier... . But all things work together for good.

Then the unnecessary prayers or confessions of faith over you... Mtcheew... Like witchcraft that's destined to fail.

Above all, what matters is your heart. Are you leaving because of bitterness... or some quarrel you had with someone or some sin or indiscretions you might have had? Examine your heart... Is the Most High leading you?
