This is a true life story that happened to me in fiction. All rights to duplicate any part of this article are reserved by the author. Any attempt to "CTRL C& CTRL V" without the author's permission shall and will be prosecuted. Seun and the honourable mods are witnesses.

'At about 7:30pm yester night, I was escorting a friend who had come to visit me. We had walked through high level, just as we were about entering David Mark Bye pass we began to here sporadic Gunshots coming from David Mark bye pass. Both of us, decided to dive into the shrubs that surrounded Bolek filling station, Shrubs that were planted there in the guise of flowers. We were not the only ones to seek a hiding place. As the shooters approached, the street that was filled with activities about a minute before had become desolate and as noisy as a graveyard. As if in an answer to someone’s prayer, NEPA decided to rid the area of electrical power. I can almost swear that my heart did the “Dramatic Didier Drogba celebration” in my body. The celebration escalated when the Shooters stopped at about twenty five feet from the shrubs we were hiding in, just as they were about to turn around my phone’s message tone began to fill the silence we seemingly grew accustomed to. If it was the default message tone at least it wouldn’t have played for the time it did, but this tone was a song I had actually downloaded and set as my message tone, Classiq’s voice filled the air accompanied with kicks and 808’s as assembled in the beat made byxBeats. Imagine oh! who would have ever thought that it was the voice of this ‘Yaron Lecturer’ that would play as I was being shot by some Random Guy in a Makurdi street for a reason I was totally Oblivious of. The Chorus of the song ‘Anfara’ came and for some reason, I heard a voice from one of the shooters in a very audible voice ‘‘Ter, dem don start conference, make we go, anybody wey we no down today another person go down am tomorrow”. They went away, the song played till the end before we left the shrubs, one can never take the word of these terrors of the streets.
After leaving the hideout, my friend almost killed me for the message tone incident. We decided to check who had sent the message that amost sent us to our graves. Annoyingly, I saw an Airtel message that read; “Dear customer, Get free Credit today, call 14150 now”. My Service Provider almost caused my death over a service that wasn’t even worth my life.
