The purpose of her taking her bp medications is for the drugs to help her lower her bp. Her body can obviously no longer control her bp by itself and without assistance hence the need to start her on medications.

Now high blood pressure/ hypertension is known as a silent killer because it causes immense damage to the body without you even knowing and the person feeling fantastic. A lot of people come wiith complications before been diagnosed with high bp.

Complications of high bp include- stroke, kidney failure, eye damage, heart failure e.t.c. These are all major things that can occur and nobody hopes for such. So pls, your mum needs to continue her drugs, regular clinic follows ups and regular tests on her to be sure she hasn't started developing complications.

Cheers.
