I am a fish-a-holic. . . Especially deep fried fish. Around here, we eat fish with ugali(kiswahili maize meal) The fish is usually seasoned with garlic, ground pepper, corriander leaves, salt and lemon. Top it out with tomato&onion salad

ok, after going all your choices, I need help in translating my own favourite types of fishes I wake up every morning and head straight to the back where they smoke fish and book my own. I love fishes for their good oil Depending on my pocket, I go for either Titus, Shawa or when I'm really broke I settle for Panla, I hope these names make sense to you all. I need the english name for them. Titus Panla & Shawa |

Re: Fish Lovers Come On In! by sosisi(f): 6:07pm On Apr 23, 2009 |
*Hauwa*: Hauwa actually, most salt water fishes are loaded with mercury because most of the heavy metals and toxic wastes end up in oceans and seas so that would include mackerels, flounders, cods, bass, tuna but especially sharks and I think mackerels Fresh water fishes are lower in mercury and that would include catfish, tilapia, salmon, trout etc. Most fresh water fish we have here in the USA stores are farm raised anyway (meaning they are not in natural rivers but reared for consumption in man made waters). Those are healthier. But I know most die hard fish lovers prefer salt water fish and say they taste better. I hate fish! |
