I'm looking to buy a proper chess board. Preferably magnetic. And no, not from the hawkers on the streets.

Which stores can I find this? Or does anyone have any for sale? I want a new one, nothing fairly used.

if you really want to buy a chessboard just forget the magnetic boards and buy a mat( tounament chess) set. it si bigger and gives you a better feel of the game.

where you can buy it depends on the where you stay. if you are nigeria most markets in cities will have a shop that sells a chess set.

I was also looking for one. I got mine at the Domino Stores in the E Centre at Sabo, Lagos. They have magnetic and plastic ones. I also checked at one shop at Ojuelegba. They had a tournament chess set but it was lookin sort of fake. The pieces weren't sculptured properly. So I'm currently using the one I got at Domino Stores but the pieces are very tiny.

Yes it depends on where one is residing. Most supermarkets sell them. I got mine, standard mat from a chess academy around Ajah-Mayfair area- chess plus academy. They had different types.
