Why is it that oyinbo people eat veal meat(baby cows)while in Africa even when food is scarce,it is seen as despicable.

What is it about veal meat that makes people want to kill tender looking calves and lambs, even pigeons?

There are loads of animals we don't eat in Africa that can be found on oyinbo gourmet menu, things like docks, pigeons,we more or less see them as  untouchables and should just be left to the detects nature.

its not about any meat, its the fact that these are slaughtered at infancy to make a delicacy.

I am white but I have to agree its cruel. I think its becasue they like their meat tender. Poor baby lambs I know! however, I wouldn't say no to a lamb chop. As regards cows we normally slaughter them when there are older. Same goes for the middle east they are very fond of lamb. I personally adore goat meat buts its impossible to find them here! they are only used for milk!!!

Personally, I don't eat or cook veal as a matter of principle.

But for those that do, you may want to consider

There are four types of veal:

   * Bob Veal, from calves that are slaughtered a few days after birth.

   * Formula-Fed (or "milk-fed"wink veal, from calves that are raised on a nutritionally complete milk formula
supplement.   Usually slaughtered when they reach 18–20 weeks of age.

   * Non-Formula-Fed ("red" or "grain-fed"wink veal, from calves that are raised on grain slaughtered at 22–26 weeks

   * Rosé Veal comes from its pink colour, which is a result of the calves being slaughtered at around 35 weeks
