Job Description:
Perform Implementation and support of MTNN network integration of Customer Edge devices to the IP/MPLS network
Integrate complex network communication architectures, topologies, hardware, and protocols into existing network configurations.
Provide accurate visibility into the MTNN Networks (IP/MPLS, GPRS etc) at Layer 3.
Timely management of faults occurring on the network
Ensure 99.999% availability of the Data Network
Daily maintenance of the MTNN Security and MPLS Infrastructure
Liaise with Network Engineers in ensuring that all faults are resolved
Interface with Planning and Vendor to review designs
Continual Constructive Criticism of existing infrastructure with visible plans for improvement
Ensure Key deliverables are met : MTTR , Availability
Ensure 100% timely Datacomms related project delivery
Review and Provide routine Input to DCN Integration Plans
Review and provide routine Input to IP Security related Issues
Perform Routine DCN Installation and Support
Drive and Implement the total Security architecture for MTNN
Drive Implementation of Security best Practices across the Data Communications Network
Continual Constructive Criticism of existing infrastructure with visible plans for improvement
Maintain End to end Internal Data Network Security
Monitor Critical Nodes, detect faults and escalate appropriately
Ensure network statistic analysis\trending of data are reported – Daily\ Weekly \ Monthly
Performs required maintenance upgrades on Routers, Switches, Firewalls, IPS, Net Forensics both HW and SW
Trouble shoots Firewall Access problems, routing issues, able to use Software Penetration and vulnerability tools
Provides input to system architecture to ensure robust designs and redundancy
Tracks performance of platform, and performs statistical analysis to improve performance
Ensures DCN/Network Security Network Availability
Ensure Network Related Fault Clearance Rate
Perform New Node implementation
Provide Emergency Maintenance on DCN/Network Security Nodes
Achieve Planned Works Completion rate
Ensure 100% timely Datacomms DCN/Security project delivery

Reporting To: Datacomms Services Manager
Required Skills:
At least 5 years experience in an Enterprise support environment with experience in –
- LAN / WAN, Routers, Switches
Cisco qualification in Routing, Switching and Security
Intermediate Unix knowledge
Good understanding of networking and IP/MPLS Infrastructure
Layer 3 MPLS IP VPN knowledge with QOS in the enterprise. Knowledge of carrier side MPLS with labels, LDP, VRF’s, RD’s. MPLS MPBGP is a must
Excellent understanding of network Infrastructure Integration of new customers to the IP/MPLS Networks
Strong IPv4 Routing protocols EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS
Previous experience in Telecommunications experience will be an added advantage
In depth knowledge of Data Communications Network and IP Security

Qualification:
A first degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related discipline Professional IT qualification, CCNP is required, CCIP, CCSP and CCIE an Advantage
