One disturbing fact is that a lot of humans die young. Recent research shows that men are twice as likely to die than women between the ages of 20 and 40.

The reason adduced to this is that men tend to ignore a lot of stress and pains that women pay attention to. Signs and symptoms including chest pains, dizziness, headaches and so on are some of the common symptoms men would rather see off than visit a doctor for.

As a result, we decided to put together 5 common body pains everyone irrespective of gender should pay attention to because they are none negotiable. If you feel any of this pains (especially repeatedly), see a doctor as soon as possible.

Sudden Pain In The Groin

Sharp pains in the groin feels like you’ve been kicked or punched around your pelvic region and it may also experience swelling.

This kind of pain is called testicular torsion. It may occur as a result of congenital defects in which the spermatic chords that hold the testicles in place become intertwined.

Blood flow to the testicles are cut off and if urgent attention is not given between 24 to 30 hours, the testicles may be lost. This is treated with surgery.

Pain in the groin may also be caused by untreated bacteria infection of the epididymis which stores spermatozoa. This can be treated with antibiotics.

Painful Urination

Having a rusty blood coloured urine or feeling severe pain during urination can serve as an indication of bladder cancer which is the third most common type of cancer in men.

Research has found smoking to be a big risk factor. Bladder cancer is usually diagnosed by eliminating similar conditions. Tests like urinalysis, followed by a cystoscopy where a scope is inserted to view the inside of the bladder. If there’s a tumour present, it can be removed through surgery, chemotherapy or radiation.

Sharp Abdominal Pain

Abdominal pains that come with a sharp, biting feeling is a cause for concern because your abdominal area contains a lot of organs and the pain could be as a result of an inflamed pancreas, appendix or gallbladder.

The cause for these three conditions are usually a blocked organ which results in infection of the organs around the area. The best bet is to run laboratory tests. If you have a high white blood cells count, you may be suffering from appendicitis. If the pain is in your upper abdomen, then it’s probably an inflamed gallbladder.

More so, if you feel the pain beneath your breastbone, and laboratory blood tests show elevated liver enzymes, then you may be suffering from pancreatitis. See a doctor to prescribe the appropriate laboratory tests.

Throbbing Chest Pain

If you have a heavy ache which comes and leaves suddenly could be as a result of simple indigestion or a more serious impending heart attack.

Blood clots could have formed in narrow sections of your coronary artery and this stops the flow of blood to a part of your heart. It is important to see a doctor as soon as possible as over half of all deaths resulting from heart attacks occur within the first 5 hours of the first symptoms.

The doctor requests tests relating to Biomarkers of damaged tissues in the heart. It is mostly treated with a coronary heart bypa$$ graft or angioplasty (a procedure used to widen obstructed veins or arteries).

Serious Pain In The Lower Back

Sufferers of this pain have described it as an agonising pain which doesn’t get relieved even after they use painkillers or rest their bodies. Such pain is not related to exercise and may be a sign of a brain or abdominal aneurysm.

Of particular note is the abdominal aneurysm which signifies a weakening of the aorta lying above the kidneys. If it gets burst, a person may die within 30 minutes. A less severe possibility is kidney stones that also comes with its own excruciating pain in sufferers.

The abdominal aneurysm can be treated with blood-pressure pressure medications to control blood flow.
