Here you are feeling down and low, wondering what next to do to meet up with your peers whom by all standards and measurements, they have all gone ahead of you. They all have extremely good jobs, married, have kids, moving in the best of cars, living in beautiful homes, in fact, they are basically living the kind of lives you all have once envisaged for while growing up. But here you are wondering what life has turned you into as you cannot even stand before them, and you can’t help it than think within you that ”You are down below the belt of life”. I mean so down that you cannot keep up with them . It is like you got lost half way or along the line, you were too slow to catch up.

You keep asking yourself where and where did you go wrong? Blaming the route you took even though you followed the right path. You try to remember how you have excelled brilliantly at school, and that some of your peers who are doing better today, you were even better than them academically in school while growing up – right? You think about all these and sometimes you can’t help it than feel sorry for yourself- its normal and natural to feel this way sometimes as a human with dreams…but don’t over do it.

The race of life is different from one person to another, while some start on a very good note, others begin in the most crudest form without any hope for development. But as they say, where/how you started doesn’t matter, it’s your determination to succeed that matters. Most of the successful people today started with absolutely nothing, and if they can make it and get their names on the lips of people around the world, then why can’t you? think about it.

I know of someone who at aged 72 he was still struggling to be the President of Nigeria after several attempts but finally succeeded recently at his fourth attempt- Yes, our Dear President! Had it been he gave up after his second attempt, he wouldn’t be the president of the most populous black nation today. The truth is, no one cares about your situation until you make it in life. If you want that respect from people, strive to have money in your pockets. Yes, that’s the sad truth!

Feeling sorry for yourself because of your situation so as to attract sympathy from people is simply a waste of time, absolutely, a precious waste of time, which ought to have been invested into something meaningful. You aren’t the first to be in such situation and definitely won’t be the last. So many people have gone through worse situations and came out strong. Today we enter our homes, press the switch on the wall and light illuminates the entire home, do you know that if Thomas Edison hasn’t tried over and over again, probably there would be nothing like electricity today?

The world only knows and respects ‘‘success”, and doesn’t care about those who say they are ”trying”, as nearly cannot kill a bird! If you want to be successful, accept the pain that comes on your way and not to complain because difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations- Life’s hard truth!
As a child growing up, i saw wealthy people, and i wanted to be like them without knowing that wealth didn’t come like a snap of the fingers but with hard word, consistency, determination and of course, faith in God!
And like my friend Chibuzor would always say whenever we discuss about the hustle at our regular joint;

”nothing good de come easy for life, so if you say you want make am for life, my guy, you go need to bend down work hard, removing all forms of shame even if na sheet you de pack, because sheet money no de smell to spend”.
